Our Repair and Colour Process
The leather is thoroughly prepared. We clean the leather furniture removing all dirt from cracks and creases, and then applying special chemicals to remove the manufactured finish. As a result the leather opens up allowing far better absorption for colouring.
We then carry out any necessary repairs to the leather, dealing with wear, cracking, we then fix and re-grain any cuts, rips, tears burns or holes.
The leather colour is then applied, the first coat by hand to ensure it covers hard to reach areas and works into all natural creases. A second coat then being applied using a spray gun for a natural even finish.
It is at this point that most repair companies then stop. However we apply an extremely hard wearing top coat lacquer by spray gun, providing superior strength. Sealing the colour and greatly increasing the life span of not only the repair but the colour. Improving the texture of the leather giving a smooth, soft and silky feel.
